We Stand in Solidarity

There is no excuse for the inhumane treatment and purposeful violence that we witnessed on May 25, 2020 with the taking of George Floyd’s life; and before that the lives of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and many more lives lost to racial injustices. Since “silence gives consent”, decent people with good intentions need to speak up and help find a better way.  Any injustice is a threat to justice everywhere.

We understand that it is a time of change in a society where imbalance and unfairness are based on differences in skin color. It is also a time for self-reflection by anyone who does not fall victim to an unequal system that is the experience of black and brown people in America. We need to do better and work towards the universal values that connect us all.

Kaji Aso Studio supports a community of creativity. The belief in the communicative power of a painting, a poem, a song is expressed in our fine arts and Japanese culture classes. Messages straight from the heart represent our best wishes for the world at large. Through classes, exhibits, and concerts, we continue to present art, poetry, and music that enriches the human spirit. We welcome all to join us.

Sincerely, Kaji Aso Studio Board of Trustees
