And we will study layering  of colors through still life, sky studies, and exercises.  Students will also have the opportunity to work on their own subject matter including  landscapes and imagination. Various media, including colored pencil and gouache, are welcome. Sketching and drawing are encouraged as a base of study for artistic vision.

Quote from Kaji Aso: "After a general introduction to the pure and transparent characteristics of watercolor as well as the layering of colors, we will begin to seek the true essence of nature, such as sunlight, cold moon and the smell of mud."

Description: Clay is an ancient as well as contemporary medium. It continues to be a means of exploration and discovery. Functional and sculptural forms are explored through wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. In this 8 week class demonstrations in clay and glazing are provided.

Please note: we are not a  production ceramic  facility. These are classes only. They are part of Kaji Aso Studio, and the art approach is in line with that artistic discovery. Space is limited.
